소개

봄 여름 가을 서울(SSA Seoul)은 서울 은평구 연서로의 한 건물 2층에 있는 큐레토리얼 오피스이자 프로젝트 스페이스다. 전시가 열리는 곳이면서, 전시가 되기 전의 조사와 대화, 기획이 이루어지는 사무실이다. 무엇을 보여 줄지와 어떻게 함께 일할지를 한자리에서 다룬다. 기획자 조주리가 운영한다.

About

SSA Seoul (봄 여름 가을 서울) is a curatorial office and project space on the second floor of a building on Yeonseo-ro in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. It is a place where exhibitions open, and an office where the research, conversations and planning that come before them take place. What to show and how to work together are decided in the same room. Run by curator Juri CHO.

SSA Seoul treats every use of the space as a collaboration. Whether a project is co-curated or a rental, we start by talking about the work and how it might be seen here. We look at the proposal before the terms, and settle dates and arrangements together.

We welcome proposals by email. Submission period: [확인 필요] (open / fixed dates)

Types of Collaboration

Co-curating: Exhibitions and projects developed jointly with SSA Seoul, from framing the subject and selecting artists to installation and publication.
Project collaboration: SSA Seoul joins projects led by institutions, organizations or individuals as a curatorial office, contributing research, curatorial advice, writing or publishing. This includes work that takes place outside the space.
Space use: The space can be booked for a set period for exhibitions, screenings, talks or workshops. Bookings are also discussed on the basis of a proposal, with priority given to work that suits the space.

기획자

조주리는 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 독립 기획자이자 시각문화 연구자다. 이화여자대학교와 같은 대학원에서 심리학과 미술사를, 런던시티대학에서 문화정책과 경영을 공부했고, 서울대학교 디자인역사문화 전공에서 박사과정을 수료했다. 연구 기반의 전시 만들기와 비평적 글쓰기에 집중하며, 미술을 통한 지식 생산과 협업의 방법론에 관심을 두어 왔다. 기획한 전시로 《나의 잠》(문화역서울284, 2022), 《베틀, 배틀》(토탈미술관, 2018), 《동백꽃 밀푀유》(아르코미술관, 2016) 등이 있다. 현재 봄 여름 가을 서울을 운영한다.

Curator

Juri CHO is an independent curator and visual culture researcher based in Seoul. She studied psychology and art history at Ewha Womans University and its graduate school (MA, History of Art), and cultural policy and management at City University London (MA). She later completed doctoral coursework in Design History and Cultural Studies at Seoul National University. Her practice centers on research-based exhibition making and critical writing, with a continuing interest in knowledge production through art and in collaborative methodologies. Exhibitions she has curated include My Sleep (Culture Station Seoul 284, 2022), Looms & Battles (Total Museum of Contemporary Art, 2018) and Mille-feuille de Camelia (Arko Art Center, 2016). She is the director of SSA Seoul.
